Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of modified lower limb traction belt in the treatment of femoral shaft fracture in children. Methods 〓A total of 54 children with femoral shaft fractures were included as the control group between February 2014 to January 2016, another 54 children were selected as the observation group between February 2016 to January 2018. The conventional traction belt was used in the control group, and the modified lower limb traction belt was adopted in the observation group. The fracture healing time and complications rate were compared between the two groups. Results 〓The fracture healing time in the observation group was(4.12±0.25)weeks, which was shorter than(4.81±0.57)weeks in the control group(t=8.146,P0.05). The overall rate of complications at 1 month after intervention was 1.85%(1/54)in the observation group and was 20.37%(11/54)in the control group(χ2=7.594,P0.05). Conclusion 〓The modified lower limb traction belt is potentially effective to shorten the fracture healing time and reduce the incidence of complications in children with femoral shaft fracture.
