Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of nursing intervention constructed by trans-theoretical model of behavior(TTM)on self-care behavior and quality in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF). Methods A total of 80 cases of CHF patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The control group was given routine nursing intervention, and the observation group was applied to the nursing intervention model constructed by TTM theory. The change of cognitive behavior during intervention, and condition of self-care ability and quality of life before treatment and 1,3, 6 months after discharge were evaluated by European heart failure self-care behavior scale(EHFScBS)and quality of life questionnaire of Minnesota in heart failure subjects(LiHFe). Results The score of behavior stage increased significantly in observation group than that of controls at 6 months after discharge, with a significant difference(P0.01). In assessment of self-care ability and quality of life, the score of EHFScBS and LiHFe decreased gradually 1, 3, and 6 months after discharge(P0.05 or P0.01), and patients in the observation group scored significantly lower than those in the control group, with significant differences(P0.05 or P0.01). Conclusion Nursing intervention of TTM can improve the cognitive behavior, self-care ability and quality of life in CHF patients.
