：Objective To investigate the effect of quality control circle(QCC)activities in continuous quality improvement of nursing care in ICU. Methods 〓A QCC team was established and the existing defects in quality management in the ICU were analyzed. A series of activities were carried out. Results 〓There was an decrease in defects rate of nursing management associated with ventilator after the implementation of QCC activities(63.95% vs. 9.30%, P0.01). The application of QCC activities had improved the quality of oral care for patients with oral endotracheal tube(P0.01). The incidence rate of missed data, repetitive data and inadequate verification in handover report was decreased after implementation of QCC activities(P0.01). Conclusion 〓The application of QCC activities can effectively improve the quality improvement of nursing care in ICU. It is an effective tool for establishment of standard operating procedure and improvement of management awareness of clinical nurses.
