Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of rehabilitation nursing intervention on patients with prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc. Methods A total of 134 patients with prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 67 cases in each group. Both two groups were given routing nursing, and the observation group was applied with rehabilitation nursing interventions. The improvement in degree of low back pain was assess by selfmade questionnaire and quality of life of patients before and after treatment was evaluated by 36item ShortForm Health Survey Questionnaire (SF36). Results The observation group achieved a better improvement in degree of low back pain compared with the control group (P<0.05). Score of physical function, rolephysical function, bodily pain, general health, validity, social function, roleemotional and mental health were increased in both two groups after invention (P<0.05 or P<001), and were higher in the observation group than those in the control group (P<0.05 or P<001). Conclusion Rehabilitation nursing intervention is potentially effective to reduce the pain of patients with prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc, and to improve the quality of life.
