Abstract:Objective To summarize the nursing management of urine leakage in patients with long-term indwelling urinary balloon catheter. Methods 〓Totally 40 patients with long-term indwelling urinary balloon catheter suffering urine leakage were randomly divided into the observation group(n=20)and the control group(n=20). Both two groups were treated with extra injection of 3 ml of sterile water into balloon after catheter replacement, and the observation group was given externally application of Chinese herbs package and bladder irrigation with liquor nitrofurazone. Results 〓There were 2(10.00%)patients in the observation group and 15(75.00%)patients in the control group with recurrence of urine leakage, with a significant difference(P0.05). Conclusion 〓In addition to extra injection of 3 ml of sterile water into balloon after catheter replacement, the application of Chinese herbs package and bladder irrigation with warm liquor nitrofurazone can effectively reduce the recurrence of urine leakage in patients with long-term indwelling urinary balloon catheter.
