Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of psychological intervention before painless childbirth on duration of labor and maternalinfant outcome of primipara. Methods A total of 100 primiparas were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 50 cases in each group. Both two groups were given conventional treatment before painless childbirth, and the observation group was given psychological intervention additionally. The duration of labor, postpartum hemorrhage, complication and neonatal status were compared between two groups. Results The observation group had a shorter duration of labor at first stage, second stage and overall duration , as well as less amount of hemorrhage, compared with the control group(P<0.01). the incidence of complication, neonatal asphyxia and neonatal jaundice was 8.00%, 4.00% and 2.00% in the observation group, and was 24.00%, 18.00% and 14.00% in the control group, with a significant difference(P<0.05). Conclusion Psychological intervention before painless childbirth can effectively shorten the duration of labor and improve the maternalinfant outcome of primipara.
