Abstract:Objective To investigate the potential reasons of low catheterization rate of peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)in patients with chemotherapy and related nursing measures. Methods 〓To retrospectively analyze the clinical data of 80 patients with chemotherapy via PICC. The potential reasons of low catheterization rate were analyzed, and related comprehensive nursing measures were carried out. Results 〓Reasons of low catheterization rate mainly included inappropriate catheterization method(38.75%), inappropriate catheterization tools(28.75%), lacking training(18.75%), insufficient mornitoring(7.50%), inadequate health education(6.25%). Conclusion 〓It is required to provide health education on PICC for patients with chemotherapy, and to enhance the training and monitoring on catheterization among nurses.
