Medical technology educators must plan a curriculum suitable for developing broad-based competencies for career-entry practitioners. One role that graduate technologists are frequently asked to assume is that of teacher. Time constraints in the traditional 3 + 1 and 4 + 1 curricular formats make it difficult to plan a complete course addressing teaching skills. This article describes a mini-workshop approach for teaching basic instructional techniques within the 3 + 1 or 4 + 1 medical technology curriculum.
