Zulkadir Family Role in the Formation of the Safavid Dynasty

摘要

Zulkadir family of Fars were of Turkmen tribes race stayed in northern Anatolia, which migrated from Central Asia regions into Asia Minor in earlier times and settled in the ar ea. Zulkadir tribes primarily settled down in Elbistan and Marash in areas at the borders of the Ottoman Empire and the number of members of these tribes has been estimated about eight thousand households. Zulkadir family consists of tribes named Qoroghl u (Qradaghlu), Shams Aldinu, Eimvar, Hajilor, Soklen, Sheikhlu, Jamoslu and Chichaklu and were among the forces helped Shah Ismail together with other Turks and Ghezelbash tribes and played major role in organizing and establishment of the Safavid dynasty. Then, in gratitude to their assistance, found Fars states as their share and thus were engaged in Safavids power equations and caliphate system.
