Foot and mouth diagnostic tests carried out in: Western Kazakhstan Oblast Between 1 May and 22 June 2011, 5,163 blood serum samples were taken from farm animals in the villages of Tinaly, Lbishchenskoe, Terimastau, Kabyl and Bashkuduk, within the Akzhol and Aksuat rural districts of the Akzhaiit Raion, in the Western Kazakhstan Oblast. As a result, non-structural proteins of the FMD virus were detected in the blood serum of 249 farm animals, demonstrating early contact with the FMD causative agent. However, there are no precise data for the circulation of antibodies related to non-structural proteins in these animals.
