Time-resolvedCCDphotometryofapeculiarSUUMa-typedwarfnova,ERUMa,duringtheearlieststageofsuperoutburstsrevealedtheexistenceoflarge-amplitude(??0.35mag)superhumps.Thesesuperhumpsappearat,orevenduring,therisetothesuperoutburstmaximum,andshowarapiddecayofamplitudeswithatimescaleofafewdays.Afteraperiodshowingalow-amplitudevariation,superhumpswithmoreusualsingly-peakedprofilesappearinthelaterstageofthesuperoutburst.Suchanearlyappearanceofsuperhumpsseemstocontradictthecurrentgrowthmodelofsuperhumpsortidalinstability,whosegrowthratehasbeenshowntobeproportionaltothesquareofthebinarymassratio.Severalpossibilitiestoexplainthisanomalyarealsobrieflydiscussed,aswellasacomparisonwithotherearlystagesuperhumpsinWZSgestars.
