Low-dispersionspectroscopicobservationsofC/2001A2(LINEAR)wereperformedbeforeandafteritsperihelionpassage.C/2001A2(LINEAR)showedthefirstoutburstlatein2001March,anditsvisualmagnitudeincreasedbymorethan5a€‰mag.Inadditiontothisoutburst,threeoutburstswererecognizedaroundtheperihelionpassageofthecomet.Theseoutburstsarethoughttobeassociatedwithsplittingeventsofthecometarynucleus.Ourfirstobservationwasperformedon2001April4,duringthefirstoutburst.Afteritsperihelionpassage,itsspectrawereobtainedonJuly2,withitsnormalactivity,andJuly12,duringanoutburst.Wedeterminedthegas-to-dustratios$$[Q(mathrm{H_2O})/Af ho]$$,aswellasgasproductionrateratiosofCN,$$mathrm{C}_2$$,and$$mathrm{NH}_2$$relativetowater$$[Q(mathrm{X})/Q(mathrm{H_2O})]$$foreachobservation.Obtainedgas-to-dustratios(26.4a€“26.7)showedthatC/LINEARwasagas-richcomet.Ourresultsshowedthattherewerenosignificantchangesinthegas-to-dustratioandgasproductionrateratiosduring3monthsaroundperihelionpassage.Incomparisonwithothercomets,therewerenosignificantdifferencesinthechemicalcompositionforC/2001A2(LINEAR).
