Wepresentaserendipitousdetectionoftheinfrared-brightsupernovaremnant(SNR)B0104$$-$$72.3intheSmallMagellanicCloudbytheInfraredCamera(IRC)onboardAKARI.Anelongated,partiallycompleteshellhasbeendetectedinallfourobservedIRCbands,covering2.6a€“15$$mu$$m.Theinfraredshellsurroundsradio,optical,andX-rayemissionassociatedwiththeSNR,andisprobablyaradiativeSNRshell.ThisisthefirstdetectionofanSNRshellinthisnear/mid-infraredwavebandintheSmallMagellanicCloud.TheIRCcolorindicatesthattheinfraredemissionmightbefromshockedH$$_2$$moleculeswithsomepossiblecontributionsfromioniclines.WeconcludethatB0104$$-$$72.3isamiddle-agedSNRinteractingwithmolecularclouds,similartotheGalacticSNRIC443.OurresultshighlightthepotentialofAKARIIRCobservationsinstudyingSNRs,especiallyfordiagnosingSNRshocks.
