Weexaminethepublishedlightcurves(LCs)of117X-raybinarypulsars,whilefocusingonthedependenceoftheirlightcurvesontheobservedenergybands.ItisfoundthattheenergydependenceoftheLCsappearsonlywhentheX-rayluminosityislargerthan$$sim;$$5$$ imes{10^{36}};$$ergs$$^{-1}$$.Assumingthatthebehavioroflightcurveisrelatedtotheradiativeaccretioncolumnontheneutron-starsurface,thisenergythresholdcanbeconsideredasobservationalproofoftheaccretioncolumnformationproposedbyBaskoandSunyaev.Oncewecangrasptheexistenceofaradiativecolumn,wecanalsoobtainseveralusefulpiecesofinformationabouttheneutron-starproperties.Asaninstance,weperformedastatisticalanalysisoftheorientationangleofthemagneticaxis,andwefoundthattheinclinationangleofthemagneticaxisshouldbesmallinordertoexplaintheobservedstatistics.
