ApreviewstudyofusingobservationaldataofthepropermotionsandDoppler-shiftedvelocitiesoftwinjetstodeterminethedistanceofsourcesinsideandoutsideourGalaxyismade.Weinvestigatethefeasibilityofthismethodbystudyingtheuncertaintyofthedistancecausedbytheuncertaintiesofthemeasuredquantities.Itshowsthat,whenthemotionofcomponentsofthejetisrelativistic,theuncertaintyofthedistanceiswithinthesameorderoftheuncertaintiesofthemeasuredvaluesofthepropermotionsandDoppler-shiftedvelocities.Inparticular,whenassumingthatthepatternspeedequalstheflowspeedinthejet,for10%uncertaintiesofthemeasuredquantities,theuncertaintyofthedistancecausedbythemwouldbewellwithin13%.Withthecurrenttechnique,thismethodisrealizable.Fortheconvenienceofchoosingthesourcestoobserve,somesourcesaspotentialtargetsarealsolistedinthispaper.
