Weobservedthe1998NovembersuperoutburstofWXCet,adwarfnovaoriginallyproposedasaWZSge-likesystem.TheobservationestablishedthatWXCetisanSUUMa-typedwarfnovawithameansuperhumpperiodof0.05949(1)d,whichis2.1%longerthanthereportedorbitalperiod.Thelackofearlysuperhumpsattheearlieststageofthesuperoutburst,therapiddevelopmentofusualsuperhumps,andthepossiblerapiddecayoflatesuperhumpsseemtosupportthatWXCetisafairlynormallarge-amplitudeSUUMa-typedwarfnova,ratherthanaWZSge-typedwarfnovawithanumberofpeculiarities.However,aperiodincreaseofsuperhumpsatarate$$dot{P}/P=+8.5pm1.0 imes10^{-5}$$wasobserved,whichisoneofthelargest$$dot{P}/P$$everobservedinSUUMa-typedwarfnovae.Alineardeclineoflight,witharateof$$0.10,mathrm{mag},mathrm{d}^{-1}$$,wasobservedinthepost-superoutburststage.Thismaybeanexemplificationofthedecayoftheviscosityintheaccretiondiskaftertheterminationofasuperoutburst,mechanismofwhichisproposedtoexplainavarietyofpost-superoutburstphenomenainsomeSUUMa-typedwarfnovae.
