Wehavedeveloped1-GHzbandwidthdigitalspectro-correlatorsystemfortheNobeyamaMillimeterArray(NMA).Itconsistsof2Gsample/sec?·2bitanalog-to-digital(A/D)convertersandanultra-widebanddigitalcorrelator.Wedevelopedtwokindsofspecial-purposeLSIhavingfunctionsofdelaycompensationandcorrelation,respectively.WiththeseLSIs,theultra-widebanddigitalcorrelatorrealizes1024-MHzbandwidthspectroscopywith128-channelresolutionfor15-correlationdata.Thissystemallowsustoobserveradiocontinuumemissionwithaboutatwo-timesbettersignal-to-noiseratiothanthatofthepreviouscorrelatorsystem.Westartedcommon-useobservationswiththisnewsystemfrom1997March;thesystemhasbeenextendedinordertoobtain21-correlationdatafora7-elementa€?Rainbowa€?(NMA+45-mtelescope)interferometersystem.
