Wereportherethein-orbitperformanceoftheCCDcamera(MAXI/SSC)onboardtheInternationalSpaceStation(ISS).Itwascommissionedin2009August.Thisisthefirstall-skysurveymissionemployingX-rayCCDs.Itconsistsof32CCDs,eachofwhichis1inchsquare.Itisaslitcamerawithafieldofviewof1$$^circ!!!.$$5$$ imes$$90$$^circ$$,andscanstheskyastherotationoftheISS.TheCCDontheSSCiscooleddowntotheworkingtemperaturearound$$-$$60$$^circ$$Cbythecombinationofapeltiercooler,aloopheatpipeandaradiator.ThestandardobservationmodeoftheCCDisinaparallelsummode(64-binning).TheCCDfunctionsproperly,althoughitsuffersanedgeglowwhentheSunisnearthefieldofview(FOV),whichreducestheobservationefficiencyoftheSSCdowntoabout30%.TheperformanceoftheCCDiscontinuouslymonitoredbothbytheMn-KX-raysandbytheCu-KX-rays.Therearemanysourcesdetected,notonlypointsources,butextendedsources.Duetothelackofaneffectiveobservationtime,weneedmoreobservationtimetoobtainanextendedemissionanalysisextractionprocess.
