Blackhole(BH)a€“neutronstar(NS)mergershavebeenstudiedasoneoftheprimarysourcesofgravitationalwaveradiationandastrongcandidateforthesourcesofshort-hardgamma-raybursts(SHBs).Inthiswork,weinvestigatedthecriterionforatidaldisruptiontooccuroutsidetheinnermoststablecircularorbitwithvariousinitialconditionsofBHandNS.WestudiedthemergerprocessesduetoRoche-lobeoverflowbyananalyticalmethodwithNewtonianorbitalfunctions.ByusingthepolytropicequationofstatefortheNS,wecalculatedthetimescaleofmergerforbothirrotating(IR)andcorotationg(CR)configurations.Theresultingtimescaleis$$sim$$10$$^{-3}$$sfortheIRcase,whichagreeswellwiththatofhydrodynamicsimulations.Wepresentasimplecomparisonwiththemostrecentsimulationresult.TheconnectiontotheSHBsisalsodiscussed.
