CCDphotometricobservationsfortheeclipsingbinaryWYTauriarefirstlypresented.Threenewminimumtimingsin2006and2008havebeendetermined.UsingWilsona€“Devinneybinarycode,thephotometricsolutionwassimultaneouslydeducedfrom$$VR$$lightcurves.PhotometricresultsindicatethatWYTauisasemi-detachedbinary,whosesecondarycomponentfillsitsRochelobe.Themassratioandorbitalinclinationare$$q$$$$=$$0.508($$pm$$0.006)and$$i$$$$=$$78$${ lap{hskip.75pt{^circ}}hskip.75pt.hskip1pt}$$0($$pm$$0$${ lap{hskip.75pt{^circ}}hskip.75pt.hskip1pt}$$05),respectively.Thefillingfactoroftheprimarycomponentis84.9%,indicatingthatthisstarisanear-contactbinary.Basedonallavailableeclipsetimingssince1930,itisfoundthatthe($$O-C$$)curvemaybedescribedbyeitheralong-termperiodincreaseoracyclicvariation.Thecontinuousperiodincreaseatarateof$$dP/dt$$$$=$$$$+$$4.65$$ imes$$10$$^{-8}$$dyr$$^{-1}$$maybeattributedtomasstransferringfromthesecondarytotheprimary,identifiedbythesemidetachedconfiguration.Withmasstransferring,WYTaumayevolveintoacontactbinary.
