WehavedevelopedadataarchivesystemfortheopticaltelescopesofOkayamaAstrophysicalObservatoryandKisoObservatory.ThearchivesystemhasaJava-baseduserinterfaceandisaccessiblethroughtheWorldWideWeb.Usingthisinterface,usersareabletosearchandpreviewobservationaldataandalsotorefertoanenvironmentaldatabaseofmeteorologicaldataandnight-skyimages.Mostoftheuserinterface,includinganimagepreviewerandenvironmentaldataviewers,hasbeendevelopedasJavaapplets.Thepreviewerhasmanyfunctions,suchasplottingaprofileofaspectralimagewithitswavelengthscale.Theenvironmentalviewersareusefultoknowtheweatherconditionduringanobservationandtoevaluatethequalityofobservationaldata.Theappletshavegoodperformancerunningonclientplatforms,realizinginteroperabilityofthesystem,andreducingnetworktraffic.Thissystemisalsoaprototypeofthedata-archivesystemofSubaruTelescope.
