ResultsfrominitialhelioseismicobservationsbytheSolarOpticalTelescopeon-boardHinodearereported.IthasbeendemonstratedthatintensityoscillationdatafromtheBroadbandFilterImagercanbeusedforvarioushelioseismicanalyses.The$$k$$a€“$$omega$$powerspectra,aswellasthecorrespondingtimea€“distancecross-correlationfunction,whichpromisehigh-resolutiontimea€“distanceanalysisbelowthe6-Mmtravellingdistance,wereobtainedforG-bandandCaII-Hdata.Subsurfacesupergranularpatternswereobservedfromourfirsttimea€“distanceanalysis.Theresultsshowthatthesolaroscillationspectrumisextendedtomuchhigherfrequenciesandwavenumbers,andthetimea€“distancediagramisextendedtomuchshortertraveldistancesandtimesthanwereobservedbefore,thusrevealinggreatpotentialforhigh-resolutionhelioseismicobservationsfromHinode.
