Wediscusshowweobtainthespatialdistributionoficeonthesurfaceofthecircumstellardiskaroundyoungstars.Iceinthedisksplaysaveryimportantroleinvariousissues,forinstance,onthediskstructure,onplanetformation,onanisotopicanomalyinmeteorites,andontheoriginoftheoceansonEarth.Therefore,spatiallyresolvedobservationsofthecondensation/sublimationfrontofice,theso-calledsnowlineisstronglyrequired.Here,weproposeanewmethodforobtainingaspatiallyresolvedsnowlineoncircumstellardisksbyobservinga3?μH$$_2$$Oicefeatureinthescatteredlight.Basedonradiativetransferconsiderations,weshowthatthefeatureisclearlyimprintedinthespectrumofthescatteredlightfrombothopticallythickandthincircumstellardisks.WealsoshowthatthescatteredlightandtheH$$_2$$Oicefeaturefromprotoplanetarydisksaredetectableandspatiallyresolvablewithcurrentinstrumentsthroughan$$H_{mathit{2}}O$$narrowbandfilteraround3?μ.Finally,wepresentadiagnosticsofdiskdustpropertieson$$K-H_{mathit{2}}O$$and$$K-La€?$$two-colordiagram.
