Wecarryoutanonadiabaticanalysisofstrange-modesinhotmassivestarswithtime-dependentconvection(TDC).Intheenvelopesofsuchstars,convectiveluminosityisnotsodominantasitisintheenvelopesofstarsonthereddersideoftheclassicalinstabilitystrip.AroundtheFeopacitybump,however,convectioncontributesnonnegligiblytoenergytransfer.Indeed,wefindthattheinstabilityofmodesexcitedattheFebumpislikelytobeweakerwithTDCascomparedwiththecaseofadoptingthefrozen-inconvection(FC)approximation.Butweconfirmthatunstablestrange-modescertainlyremaininhotmassivestarsevenbytakingintoaccountTDC.Wealsoexaminepropertiesofthestrange-modeinstability,whichisrelatedtodestabilizationofstrange-modeswithoutadiabaticcounterparts.Inthistypeofinstability,aphaselagbetweendensityandpressurevariesfrom0?°to180?°inanexcitationzone,unlikethecaseofthe?o-mechanism.Inaddition,weconfirmbycomparingtwomodelswithZ??=??0andZ??=??0.02thatthedominanceofradiationpressureisimportantforthistypeofinstability.
