WepresentanempiricalcorrectionofskycoordinatesofX-rayphotonsobtainedwiththeX-rayImagingSpectrometer(XIS)aboardtheSuzakusatellitetoimprovethesourcepositionaccuracyandrestorethepoint-spreadfunction(PSF).TheXISimagesareknowntohaveanuncertaintyinpositionofupto$$1a€2$$,andtoshowconsiderabledegradationsofthePSF.Theseproblemsarecausedbyadriftingofthesatelliteattitudeduetothermaldistortionofthesidepanel#7,wheretheattitudecontrolsystemismounted.WefoundthatthepositionerroraveragedoverapointingobservationcanbelargelyreducedbyusingtherelationbetweenthedeviationofthesourcepositionintheDETXdirectionandtheeclipticlatitudeofthepointingtarget.Weparameterizedthewobblingofthesourcepositionsynchronizedwiththe96-minutesatelliteorbitalperiodwithtemperaturesofonboardradiatorsandelapsedtimesincethenight-daytransitionofthespacecraft.Wedevelopedsoftware,aeattcor,tocorrecttheimagedriftusingtheseparameters,andapplieditto27point-sourceimagestakenintheSuzakuinitialscience-operationphase.Weshowthattheradiusofthe90%errorcircleofthesourcepositionwasreducedto$$19a€2$$andthePSFwassharpened.TheseimprovementshaveenhancedthescientificcapabilityoftheSuzakuXIS.
