WeperformrevisedspectralcalibrationsfortheAKARInear-infraredgrismtocorrectquantitativelyfortheeffectofthewavelength-dependentrefractiveindex.Thenear-infraredgrismcoveringthewavelengthrangeof2.5a€“5.0a€‰??m,withaspectralresolvingpowerof120at3.6a€‰??m,isfoundtobecontaminatedbysecond-orderlightatwavelengthslongerthan4.9a€‰??m,whichisespeciallyseriousforredobjects.First,wepresentthewavelengthcalibrationconsideringtherefractiveindexofthegrismasafunctionofthewavelengthforthefirsttime.Wefindthattheprevioussolutionispositivelyshiftedbyupto0.01a€‰??mcomparedwiththerevisedwavelengthsat2.5a€“5.0a€‰??m.Inaddition,wedemonstratethatsecond-ordercontaminationoccursevenwithaperfectorder-sortingfilterowingtothewavelengthdependenceoftherefractiveindex.Secondly,thespectralresponsesofthesystemfromthefirst-andsecond-orderlightaresimultaneouslyobtainedfromtwotypesofstandardobjectswithdifferentcolors.Theresponsefromthesecond-orderlightsuggestsleakageoftheorder-sortingfilterbelow2.5a€‰??m.Therelationsbetweentheoutputofthedetectorandtheintensitiesofthefirst-andsecond-orderlightareformalizedbyamatrixequationthatcombinesthetwoorders.Theremovalofthecontaminatingsecond-orderlightcanbeachievedbysolvingthematrixequation.Thenewcalibrationextendstheavailablespectralcoverageofthegrismmodefrom4.9a€‰??mupto5.0a€‰??m.Therevisioncanbeusedtostudyspectralfeaturesfallingintheseextendedwavelengths,e.g.,thecarbonmonoxidefundamentalro-vibrationalabsorptionwithinnearbyactivegalacticnuclei.
