Identifyingtheorigintype(i.e.,Typea€‰Iaorcore-collapse)ofsupernovaremnants(SNRs)iscrucialtodeterminingtheratesofsupernova(SN)explosionsinagalaxy,whichisakeytounderstandingitsrecentchemicalevolution.However,evolvedSNRsintheso-calledSedovphasearedominatedbytheswept-upinterstellarmedium(ISM),makingitdifficulttodeterminetheirejectacompositionandthusSNtype.HerewepresentasystematicX-raystudyofnineevolvedSNRsintheMagellanicClouds,DEM??L238,DEM??L249,0534a?’69.9,0548a?’70.4,B0532a?’71.0,B0532a?’67.5,0103a?’72.6,0049a?’73.6,and0104a?’72.3,usingarchivaldataoftheSuzakusatellite.AlthoughSuzakudoesnotspatiallyresolvetheSNejectafromtheswept-upISMduetothelimitedangularresolution,itsexcellentenergyresolutionhasenabledclearseparationofemissionlinesinthesoftX-rayband.Thisleadstothefindingthatthea€?spatiallyintegrateda€?spectraoftheevolved(a??104a€‰yr)SNRsarestillsignificantlycontributedbyemissionfromtheejectaatenergiesaround1a€‰keV.TheFe/Nemassratios,determinedmainlyfromthewell-resolvedFeL-shellandNeK-shelllines,clearlydividetheobservedSNRsintotheTypea€‰Iaandcore-collapsegroups,confirmingsomeprevioustypingmadebyChandraobservationsthathadutilizeditsextremelyhighangularresolution.ThisdemonstratesthatspatiallyintegratedX-rayspectraofoldSNRscanalsobeusedtodiscriminatetheirprogenitortype,whichwouldbehelpfulforfuturesystematicstudiesofextragalacticSNRswithASTRO-Handbeyond.
