Weinvestigatethestructureofthemolecularcloudcomplexes(MCCs)asagroupofseveralgiantmolecularclouds(GMCs)intheGalaxy.Wethenfindthatthemass-sizerelationwhichhasbeenreportedfortheGMCsiswell-establishedevenforverylargeMCCs,whosesizesareabout1kpc.SincethehorizontalsizeoftheMCCsislargerthanthethicknessofthegalacticdisk,wecannolongerconsidertheMCCstobespherical.Thus,weconstructastructuralmodeloftheMCCs,adoptingarectangular-solidgeometry.Asaresult,ourmodelexplainstheobservedmass-sizerelationoftheMCCsverywell.FromtheestimatedexternalpressurearoundtheMCCs,wefindthattheyareinaroughpressurebalancewiththeinterstellarmedium.Moreover,wefindthereisanobservationaldeficiencyoftheMCCswithalargesizeandsurfacedensity.WethussuggestthattheexternalpressurehasasignificanteffectonthestructureandevolutionoftheMCCs.WealsodiscusstheeffectofHIIregionsintheMCCs.
