Wepresentanddiscusstheresultsof1.6GHzand5GHztestpolarizationobservationsobtainedwithHALCA,theVLBA,andphasedVLA,specificallytoevaluatethefeasibilityofcalibratingandimagingHALCApolarizationdata.Ouranalysisprovidedthefirstdemonstrationthatcentimeter-wavelengthpolarizationimagingusingHALCAistechnicallyviableforsourceswithsufficientlyhighcorrelatedpolarizedfluxdensities,despiteanumberoffactorswhichconspiretocomplicatethecalibration,includingrelativelylowsensitivity,inabilitytoobservecalibrators,lackofvaryingparallacticangle,andabsenceofredundantmeasurementsonspacebaselines.Thetestdatadescribedherearelimitedandcannotruleoutinstrumentalvariability,butindicatethattheHALCAinstrumentalpolarizationleakageisa??2a?’5%at1.6GHzanda??9a?’11%at5GHz.TheprospectsforeffectivepolarizationcalibrationonfutureorbitingVLBImissionsareencouraging,especiallysinceimprovementsinsensitivityareexpected.
