Recently we realized that in the argument presented in the paper to demonstrate the independence of physical resultson the arbitrary length scale r0, the following conceptual error was committed. From Eqs. (2.12)–(2.13), it can be seenthat although the use of harmonic coordinates removes most of the r0 dependence from Eqs. (2.3)–(2.4), it introduces anew dependence on the distance of the source (r). While computing the hereditary contribution, this r was replaced bythe separation z [see for instance Eqs. (6.5), (6.15) and (6.16)]. This is equivalent to the choice of the retarded time,u ? t r=c t e2 Gm=c3T log ez=rT, in contrast to the choice u ? t r=c as claimed in the paper. This choiceinvolving zetT is not suitable to make the PN expansion, c ! 1 along u ? constant. We have verified that the erroris straightforwardly rectified, the problem resolved, and the proof corrected by a different choice of retarded timeu0 ? t r=c t e2 Gm=c3T log eGm=c2rT (similar to Ref. [1]).
