e all hope, I think, that our work might have some impact on the world we live in. This is also the expectation of funding agencies, such as the National Science Foun- dation, and their expectation is formalized in the broader impacts sections required for NSF grant proposals. I have not always managed to produce compelling broader impacts sections, but I want to tell you about our current fund- ed project where we are working to improve high school science education, together with some of the successful strategies and pitfalls we have discovered along the way.
