Camille Pissarro, for many one of the fathers of French Impressionism, was in Venezuela for 21 months from 1852 to 1854 to accompany the 22-year Danish painter Fritz Melby who convinced him to come to South American soil. We believe these 21months were important to the young Pissarro because we had an impact on the pictorial aspect, the aspect of social-political beliefs and the preferences aspect of pictorial themes (the human being in his fundamental trades).
