Streszczenie Wprowadzenie . Modele gipsowe s? wykorzystywane w diagnostyce i ustalaniu planu leczenia ortodontycznego, ?ródleczniczo monitoruj? post?p leczenia. Materia? i metody . Materia? do badań stanowi?o 16 modeli. Trzech badaczy dokonywa?o pomiarów modeli gipsowych i odpowiadaj?cych im modeli cyfrowych. Na ka?dym modelu wykonano seri? 4 pomiarów: nagryzu pionowego (OB), nagryzu poziomego (OJ), szeroko?ci podniebienia (IMW) oraz wska?nika Boltona (Bolton) w odcinku przednim. Modele standardowe i wirtualne mierzono dwukrotnie w 2-tygodniowych odst?pach czasu. Wyniki . Porównuj?c pomiary nagryzu pionowego, poziomego, szeroko?ci podniebienia oraz przedniego wska?nika Boltona wykazano, ?e nie by?o istotnych statystycznie ró?nic mi?dzy wynikami trzech badaczy. Je?li chodzi o porównanie wyników mi?dzy modelami gipsowymi i cyfrowymi, to najwi?ksz? zgodno?? stwierdzono w pomiarach nagryzu poziomego i wska?niku Boltona zarówno w czasie T1, jak i T2. Istotne statystycznie ró?nice zaobserwowano w ocenie nagryzu pionowego i szeroko?ci podniebienia podobnie w pierwszym, jak i drugim pomiarze. Wnioski . Wykazano powtarzalno?? i zgodno?? wyników wykonanych niezale?nie przez trzech badaczy. Zaobserwowano istotne statystycznie ró?nice w pomiarach nagryzu pionowego i szeroko?ci podniebienia uzyskanych na modelach gipsowych w porównaniu z cyfrowymi. Nale?y zastanowi? si? nad przyczyn? ró?nic w pomiarach nagryzu pionowego i szeroko?ci podniebienia na modelach gipsowych i wirtualnych. Abstract Background . Plaster casts are traditionally used in diagnostics and treatment planning, mid-treatment progress monitoring, and post-treatment results illustration. They can also be used in court proceedings as evidence in cases of professional errors and even for identification of corpses. Regulations require models to be stored for a period of 20 years. With the advancement of technology, plaster casts used for over 100 years will be soon replaced by digital models. Objectives . The aim of this study was to compare the results and to evaluate the correspondence of measurements made on plaster casts and digital models by three independent examiners in two time intervals. Material and Methods . The materials for the study consisted of 16 models. Three examiners measured the plaster casts and corresponding digital models. On each model 4 routine measurements were made: overbite (OB), overjet (OJ), intermolar width (IMW) and anterior Bolton ratio (Bolton). Standard and digital models were measured twice with two week intervals. Results . The comparison of measurements of overbite, overjet, intermolar width and anterior Bolton ratio showed no statistically significant differences between the three examiners. The comparison of measurements of plaster casts and digital models showed greatest correspondence in overjet and Bolton ratio both in T1 and T2. Statistically significant differences were observed in evaluation of overbite and intermolar width in both first and second set of measurements. Conclusion . Repeatability and correspondence of the results of the measurements made by three independent examiners was established. Statistically significant differences in overbite and intermolar width measurements of plaster casts and digital models were observed. Possible reasons for the differences in overbite and intermolar width measurements on digital and plaster models need to be determined.
