Materia? do badań stanowi?o 96 wype?nień za?o?onych w ubytkach z?bów u 32 pacjentów w wieku 7–16 lat (16 ch?opców i 16 dziewcz?t), które podzielono na 3 grupy. W grupie I wykonano 32 wype?nienia z materia?u Filtek Supreme XT polimeryzowanego lamp? halogenow? Translux CL? (Kulzer). Grup? II stanowi?y 32 wype?nienia z materia?u Filtek Supreme XT utwardzanego lamp? diodow? Elipar-2? (3M ESPE) z funkcj? soft start. W grupie III wykonano 32 wype?nienia z materia?u Filtek Supreme XT, który polimeryzowano lamp? diodow? Elipar-2 z wy??czeniem funkcji soft start. Klinicznie oceniano jako?? wype?nień bezpo?rednio po za?o?eniu, a nast?pnie po 6, 12 i 24 miesi?cach wg kryteriów Ryge’a. Oceniano tak?e stan higieny jamy ustnej oraz stan miazgi leczonych z?bów. Wyniki i wnioski. W czasie 2-letnich obserwacji klinicznych stopniowo pogarsza?a si? jako?ci wype?nień z materia?u kompozytowego. W mniejszym stopniu dotyczy?o ono wype?nień polimeryzowanych lamp? diodow?, w wi?kszym za? utwardzanych lamp? halogenow?. Abstract Background . An ongoing development in the area of aesthetic dentistry forces a continuous search for improvements in composite materials, as well as progress in the field of light curing for composites’ polimerisation. Objectives . The aim of this study was a two year clinical evalution of Filtek Supreme XT? filling material (3M ESPE), installed in children’s permanent teeth. The fillings were cured by a LE D (with and without the soft start function) and halogen light curing unit. Material and Methods . The research material was made up of 96 fillings installed in cavities of 32 patients aged 7 to 16 years (16 boys and 16 girls), divided into 3 groups. In group I 32 fillings were made from Filtek Supreme XT cured with a Translux CL? halogen light curing unit (Kulzer). Group II consisted of 32 fillings made from Filtek Supreme XT hardened with an Elipar-2 LED light curing unit (3M ESPE) equipped with the soft start function. In group III 32 fillings were made from Filtek Supreme XT which was cured with an Elipar-2? LED unit without the przysoft start function. The fillings were subjected to clinical evaluation immediately after they had been installed, and then after 6, 12 and 24 months according to Ryge’s criteria. The condition of oral cavity and treated teeth pulp was also examined. Results and Conclusion . During 2-year clinical observations the quality of composite material gradually deteriorated. The fillings cured with a LE D light curing unit were affected to a lesser extent, while degradation of those hardened with a halogen was greater.
