In this study, the effects of differences in origin and region on the compression strength parallel to the grain of Douglas Fir [Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco] wood were investigated. A total of 18 trees of two origins obtained from the regions of Ma?ka and Tonya were for comporison. Samples 2x2x3 cm in size in were prepared in accordance with the standards. The effects of differences in origin and region on compression strength parallel to the grain were statistically determined. The results showed that the effects of region were significant, while those of origin were not. The average regional compression strength parallel to the grain was 361.25 kgf/cm2.
