Transgender people still continue to face barriers to adequatehealthcare in the United States and the World despite increased ac-ceptance and recognition of transgender and gender non-conformingpeople over the past several decades by society and the medical com-munity [1]. Several professional societies have released guidelinesfor the hormonal management of transgender people including theEndocrine Society and the World Professional Association forTransgender Health [2,3]. However, many physicians still lack thecomfort level and training to provide adequate care for transgenderpeople [4,5]. Some physicians still question the safety of hormonetherapies for transgender people and are uncomfortable with pre-scribing appropriate hormone therapy [6].
