The purpose of this paper is to assess the United States Federal Government’s role in healthcare. Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, the United States’ health care system equity, efficiency, and effectiveness has came under questioning. The government’s role in heath care has aroused discord and division among the citizens. This paper is to discuss the United States’ current performance in health care. The author suggests the proper role the United States government in providing efficient, effective, and equitable health care to its citizens.
