摘要

Product design is a kind of knowledge-intensive activities. However, there is a dearth of the effective organization and modeling for the design knowledge contents based on the semantic model. A design task of complicated product is generally divided into a series of relatively simple subtasks or subcomponents through decomposition and integration. This paper seeks to present an empirical approach to establishing ontology for design knowledge by using this kind of characteristics of product design. In addition, this paper selects the bicycle for modeling object and has carried on the syntax validation for design knowledge ontology by using Protégé. According to the result analysis, the ontology model proposed in this paper could build up a foundation for knowledge management in product design and provide an internal structure for knowledge sharing and knowledge reasoning.
