Content Classification by Folksonomies: Framework of Social Bookmarking System

摘要

Social bookmarking is a recent phenomenonwhich has the potential to give us a great deal of data aboutpages on the web. In this paper, we present an improvedframework to web content classification based onFolksonomy. Since Folksonomy is keyword-based, it isassociated with semantic problems. Various academicianshave constructed ontologies to solve semantic problems.However, ontology depends on expert knowledge of theproblem domain, and the process of constructingknowledge depends on the participation of knowledgeengineers. This study presents an improved weightingmechanism to solve the semantic problems and theproblematic effects of poor classification. An experimentalprototype called FSBS (Folksonomy Social BookmarkingSystem) was developed. Testing indicates that the FSBScan effectively reduce the number of classification resultsby more than 30% significantly improved the quality oftagging, and increased user satisfaction. We believed thatour works have provided a feasible framework for anintelligent social bookmarking system.
