摘要

To have economically efficient frequency control in power networks, the communication between the generators and controllers is essential. In this paper we adopt a master-slave control structure where a control center (master) optimally allocates the required power generation among the units (slaves). We investigate the communication and sampling rate requirements such that frequency regulation and optimality are guaranteed. The analysis of the continuous physical system and the discrete-time communication protocol is carried out within the framework of hybrid systems and relies on an invariance principle. Based on Lyapunov arguments a minimum sampling rate is established. A case study indicates that a low sampling rate can indeed lead to instability.
