The data of measurements of 21 male and 24 female breast-fed infants from birth to 6 to 7 months of age are presented. The infants were born of well fed mothers, coming from families of better than average income and intelligence. The pattern of growth of these infants is compared with that of a larger group, the majority of whom were artificially fed infants of the same socio-economic status. It is concluded that the pattern of growth of the breast-fed infants does not differ significantly from that of artificially fed infants of the same socio-economic group.
