摘要

Separation of nickel-titanium instrument during root canal treatment can cause serious complications that may lead to treatmentfailure. It prevents complete cleaning and flling of the entire root canal space. Retrieval of the instrument should be tried for betteroutcome of the therapy. This paper includes a case series of separated instruments. The instrument was successfully removedin four cases using an ultrasonic device under magnifcation. Case evaluation, a good armamentarium, and experience help thedentist to successfully retrieve separated instruments. Care must be taken in every case to avoid canal damage.
