Israel and prime contractor Rafael yesterday completed a successful test of the country's billion-dollar, U.S. government-subsidized short-range missile defense system against a cruise missile. The Missile Defense Agency and the Israel Missile Defense Organization separately announced the test included the intercept by the David's Sling Weapon System of a "threat representative target," according to the U.S. agency. The test was supplemented by a series of events conducted over many weeks and included participation by the Israeli air force and navy.
