This study aims to allow upgrading oracledatabase with arabic data to different character set withoutdata loss is required. The character set convertermechanism Charcon is designed to solve this problem,Charcon which is a module will allow oracle database todeal with arabic character set migration operation, itallows moving arabic data between different characterset quickly, safely and efficiently, Charcon uses amechanism that protects the Arabic data in Flat fileinternally and executes the conversion process thenrestore the data to its original location, it has manymodules, each one each one has its own function, itsupports checking conversion possibility, executing theconversion process and restoring the data in addition todata protection it allows cancelling the conversionoperation at any time without any data loss. The manualstimulation of Charcon procedures works perfect in realdatabase, without data loss or corruption only someconsideration noticed to optimize the conversion process,starting with performance issue while converting bigdatabase with millions of rows it may take a long timedepending in data size also it may consume machineresource if multiple instances of Charcon method isrunning at the same time in addition to the recoveryconsideration while the process is running andinterrupted, the method should allow data recoverywithout loss.
