The European Society for MedicalOncology (ESMO) isa Europe's leading nonprofitmedical oncology organization. Sinceitscreation in the 1970s, the organizationand its membership have grown on a globalscale, with 25,000 members worldwide. Despiteits European name, the ESMO membership includesa broad range ofhealth professionals, researchers,and patientadvocates fromaround the world. Twenty-five percent (～6000 members) ofESMO's membership resides within theAsia-Pacificregion. With this inmind, the ESMO has focused on severalactivities to specifically address issues uniqueto the Asia-Pacificregion. InNovember 2019,ESMO conducted its inauguralESMO Asia Leaders Generation Programme(LGP). Modeled on the EuropeanAnnualESMO LGP launched in 2016, this fullyESMO-funded programwas specifically targeted at potentialemerging leaders within the Asia-Pacificregion. This Editorialis directed to providereadersandespecially potentialleaders,an overviewofthis ESMO initiativefroma participant'sand mentor's perspective.
