摘要

In order to morphologically and phaneroptically characterize the goat belonging to the Urdaneta municipality of Lara state, 197 adult goats with an average weight and age of 29.6 kg and 2.7 years, with a body condition of 2.5, were evaluated. Phaneroptic variables (layer color, udder, nipples, ear type) and zoomometric variables (thorax perimeter, cross height, trunk length, body length) were recorded, analyzed by frequency distribution and variance using the Statistix 8.0 program. The predominant ecotype was native (65.5%). The variables showed coefficients of average variation indicating heterogeneity of the herd. A native goat ecotype was characterized, with a predominance of dark layers, ellipometric, brevilinear type; medium-sized ears; Uber globes and normal nipples.
