—In this paper, we propose an analytical approachto predict the performance of web service composition builton BPEL. The approach first translates web servicecomposition specification into Stochastic Petri Nets. Fromthe SPN model and its corresponding continuous-timeMarkov chain, we derive the analytical performanceestimates of process-completion-time. In the case study, wealso use computer simulation techniques to validate ouranalytical model.
