O artigo é uma pesquisa exploratória que parte da bibliografia para analisar e associar algumas quest?es a respeito do artefato livro e da leitura, enquanto (inter) a??o que envolve autor, conteúdo, design gráfico e leitor. Divide-se em quatro se??es: O livro, que trata do objeto, suas características e possibilidades gráficas e plásticas; A leitura, que aborda a percep??o diante de uma obra; Samuel Beckett, em que se discorre sobre o quanto esse autor levou ao extremo as quest?es da linguagem, tomando como exemplo o design gráfico inusitado de “Primeiro Amor”, pela proposta de uma experiência de leitura que incorpora substrato e conteúdo; por fim, nas considera??es finais, aborda-se o contexto atual da literatura e suas correspondências com a leitura e o design. Este é um estudo que pretende trazer algumas discuss?es a respeito do livro e da leitura, enquanto objeto e a??o potentes.*****This article presents an exploratory research which departs from bibliography and aims at analyzing and associating some issues about the object book and reading as an (inter)action that involves the author, content, graphic design and reader. The article is divided into four sections: The book – which deals with this object, its characteristics and its plastic and graphic possibilities; Reading – about the perception towards a book;?Samuel?Beckett – presenting a discussion on how this writer took language issues to the extreme, with the example of the innovative graphic design of “First Love”, and the proposal of a reading experience that incorporates?substrate and content; at last, the final remarks tackle on the current context of literature and its correspondences with reading and design. This study aims to bring to light some discussions regarding the reading process and the book as an artifact and a powerful action.
