Antifouling sensing interfaces can reduce or eliminate the non-specific absorption in electrochemicalbiosensing. Many antifouling strategies have been reported in the references. Self-assembledmonolayer (SAM) is inexpensive and versatile for immobilization of biorecognition element onto thesurface of transducer. In this work, we highlight the recent progress in antifouling SAMs and addresedtheir applications in electrochemical biosensors, including phenyl phosphates, small molecules,peptides and PEGylated conductive films.
