Posted July 12, 2021 The Missile Defense Agency last month put a pair of nanosatellites -each about the size of a loaf of bread - on orbit as part of a prototype demonstration of networked radio communications and tied to a new and advanced technology risk-reduction project linked to the Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor program. On June 30, MDA's Nanosat Testbed Initiative - funded as part of the agency's advanced technology development portfolio that pursues a broad range of emerging technologies targeted for application and insertion into the Ballistic Missile Defense System - put a pair of payloads on orbit as part of the CubeSat Networked Communications Experiment (CNCE) Block 1.
